Who we are
Gabble ("Gabble", "we", "us") is a free chat service at gabblechat.app, run by its creator, indiandino. Questions about these terms? Message us in the official Gabble HQ server (everyone is in it), or use Report on any message, profile or server.
Who can use Gabble
You must be at least 13 years old to use Gabble. If the law where you live says you need to be older to use a service like this without a parent agreeing, you need to meet that age too, or have your parent or guardian agree to these terms for you.
You cannot use Gabble if we have banned you before, or if the law does not allow you to.
Your account
- Give your real birthday when you sign up. Lying about your age to get in breaks these terms.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else got in, change your password and use Log Out All Other Devices in settings.
- If you log in with Discord, Discord's own terms also apply to your Discord account.
- One person per account. Do not sell, share or trade accounts or usernames.
Your content
You own the messages, images, files and other things you post ("your content"). To run Gabble, you give us permission to store, copy, show and send your content to the people you share it with, and to make the small changes needed for that (like resizing images or making link previews). This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons.
Only post things you have the right to post. You are responsible for your content.
Rules you agree to follow
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In short, do not:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it
- harass, threaten, bully or hate on people
- post sexual or NSFW content of any kind. Gabble does not allow it anywhere
- post anything that sexualizes minors. We report this to the authorities
- spam, scam, phish or spread malware
- pretend to be someone you are not
- scrape Gabble, overload it, or try to break into accounts or our systems
- make new accounts to get around a ban or mute
Servers and moderators
Anyone can make a server and set its own rules, as long as they follow these terms. Server owners and moderators are users, not Gabble staff, and we are not responsible for what they do in their servers. You can always leave a server or report it to us.
Community cosmetics
You can submit avatar decorations, profile effects and banners. Only submit art you made or have the right to share. By submitting, you let anyone on Gabble use it on their profile. We review everything first, and we can reject or remove a cosmetic at any time.
How we enforce the rules
If you break these terms or the Community Guidelines, we may remove content, send you a warning, mute you, remove your servers, or ban your account, depending on how serious it is. We may act without warning when someone is in danger or the law requires it.
Think we got it wrong? Message us in the official Gabble HQ server (everyone is in it), or use Report on any message, profile or server. Tell us what happened and we will take another look.
Gabble is free
Gabble does not charge for anything. Because it is a free project, we may change, add or remove features, or stop running Gabble entirely. If we ever plan to shut down, we will try to give you notice so you can save anything important.
No warranty
Gabble is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or secure, or that content posted by other people is accurate or appropriate.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Gabble and its creator are not liable for indirect or unexpected losses, lost data, or anything caused by other users or by things outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in User Settings → My Account. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms. Some parts of these terms keep applying after your account ends, like the rules about content and liability.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Gabble grows. If the changes are important, we will tell you on Gabble before they take effect. If you keep using Gabble after that, you agree to the new terms.
