Stay safe, stay in control
Gabble gives you tools to decide who can reach you and to get bad stuff removed fast. Here is how to use them.
Report
Open the menu on any message, profile or server (right-click on a computer, or the three-dot menu on a phone) and choose Report. Our safety team reviews every report. The person is not told who reported them.
Block
Open someone's profile and choose Block. They can't DM you or send you friend requests.
Control your DMs
In User Settings, turn off DMs from server members so only friends can message you.
If something goes wrong
- Don't reply. If someone is harassing or scaring you, you don't owe them an answer.
- Report it. Report the messages or the profile so we can see exactly what happened.
- Block them. Blocking stops them from reaching you while we review the report.
- Tell someone you trust. A friend, parent or teacher can help, especially if it is happening outside Gabble too.
If you or someone else is in danger
If anyone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number right away. Gabble can't send help.
If you are struggling or thinking about hurting yourself, you deserve support. You can find a free, confidential helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.
For server owners
- Turn on AutoMod in Server Settings to block scam links, bad words and mention spam.
- Use a verification level so brand-new accounts have to wait before chatting.
- Give trusted people moderator roles, and use timeouts, kicks and bans when needed. Everything shows in the audit log.
- Turn on join requests if you want to approve everyone who joins.
For parents and guardians
Gabble is for people aged 13 and older, and we ask for a birthday at sign-up. Gabble does not allow sexual content anywhere. We recommend talking with your teen about who they chat with, how to block and report, and never sharing personal details like their address or school.
If you believe a child under 13 has an account, or you have a safety concern about your teen, report the account or message us in Gabble HQ.
Good habits
- Never share your password or login token. Gabble staff will never ask for it.
- Be careful with links promising free stuff. Scammers use them to steal accounts.
- Keep personal details private, even with people who seem friendly.
